Are you creating your own Digital curriculum for your students are do you rely on a printed textbook? Many teachers and or schools are beginning to develop a digital curriculum for students. It is becoming a national movement with the Department of Education encouraging it with a deadline to be all digital by 2017.
Are you aware of the movement? What do you think about it? Here is an article that describes a few district wide attempts. This article also addresses the questions many have regarding how the curriculum is “tested” and seen as accurate and meeting requirements.

I think it is a bit ridiculous for the Dept of Ed to make this a requirement without providing funds to help schools purchase the necessary hardware/software to make this happen. We all know that we are basically outpricing Catholic education. We can’t possibly charge parents for this as well. They will certainly leave and go to Public Schools who, do get the money and can offer these services. I wish the Dept of Ed would consider all educational institutions and not just public education when making decisions like this.

The Dept of Ed is requiring all public schools to move in this direction. They are not requiring Catholic or other non-public schools to do this. One of the reasons is that it is more fluid for students and teachers to update content and to connect with students. It would replace textbooks – so that cost is saved. Sorry if I misrepresented the requirement. I do think we need to consider the possibility from a learning aspect and also the cost factor.
